Our story

Built with Family,
Passion & Purpose 🇦🇺🥟

What started in a small Melbourne home kitchen became one of the most meaningful journeys of our lives. We are a family of Indian immigrants who came to Australia carrying dreams, skills, and the determination to create something valuable for our new home.

Hand-folded golden samosas with mint chutney — Samosa Near Me

The beginning

Like many migrant families, the start was not easy. There were long workdays, study pressures, financial challenges, and the emotional reality of starting over in a brand-new country. But through every difficult moment, one thing always brought us together — food made with love.

The recipes passed through generations in our family kitchen became more than meals. They became memories, comfort, and connection — and eventually, the foundation of a business.

The chef — our brother-in-law

At the heart of every samosa we make is our brother-in-law, a highly skilled cook with years of hands-on experience in authentic Indian flavours, traditional spice balancing, and homemade techniques. His passion for consistency and quality shapes every single batch.

Dr. Wajid Saiyed — strategy, digital & growth

Alongside our chef, Dr. Wajid Saiyed continued working while studying a Master of Public Health at Torrens University Australia. While balancing study, work, and family, he began building the business strategically — combining modern digital skills, healthcare knowledge, and emerging technology trends.

He understood early that the future of food brands wouldn't depend on taste alone. It would depend on digital branding, SEO, AI search visibility, social media storytelling, health-conscious food trends, consumer trust, and smart technology integration.

Using knowledge from health sciences, university research, management principles, marketing strategy, IT systems, and SEO optimisation, he transformed a simple home-kitchen idea into a growing modern food brand.

The sister — our brand & design

Our sister, with her creative fashion-design background, leads branding, presentation, packaging and visual identity. She shaped the emotional feel of the company — warm, modern, family-oriented and memorable.

The vision

Instead of building just another frozen food business, the vision became much bigger:

  • ✨ Build a trusted Australian halal frozen food brand
  • ✨ Combine traditional homemade recipes with modern convenience
  • ✨ Create a business powered by digital innovation and authentic storytelling
  • ✨ Support multicultural Australia and local economic growth

The milestone — $100K in our first year

Customers connected with the story. Families loved the convenience. Students loved the affordability. Working professionals loved quick halal freezer meals. Within just one year, Samosa Near Me crossed $100,000 AUD in revenue while continuing to grow across Australia.

But the greatest achievement was never financial. It was knowing that a migrant family created opportunities, local Australian communities were supported, customers trusted the brand, traditional recipes were preserved, and modern technology helped amplify a family dream.
